Swivel does not sell crossover truck tool boxes, side mounted truck tool boxes or porkchop truck tool boxes. They started out designed workbenches and shop tool boxes based around their unique drawer design, which is what their truck tool boxes are based around, too.
The Swivel drawer system lives up to its name. The drawers swivel outwards from the inside of the tool box. It’s an odd but smart system that allows you to have multiple drawers open at once without any of them blocking the others. You can open and close these drawers easily with one hand. They are well-made and don’t stick or skid, even when fully loaded. The hinges on the swivel drawers are easy to grease. This oddball design takes some getting used to, but it can be incredibly useful.
All these truck tool boxes are black and orange, Swivel’s signature colors. They offer open-faced tool boxes that can be mounted behind a door. These come in a range of heights from 4 drawers to 8 drawers. The drawers will remain secure as you drive thanks to their latch system.
They also sell underbody truck tool boxes that use their unique drawer system. These truck tool boxes have their drawers tucked behind their doors. The Pro 18 opens to the side, while the Pro 25 open downward. They have a secure locking system on the doors to make sure tools stay in place and secure. There are also weathertight versions of each type. The door and the drawers are all weather sealed to keep out moisture and dust.
All Swivel truck tool boxes have been designed to stand up to the vibrations made by your truck as you drive. They’re great boxes for storing a variety of screws, nuts, and other items you’ll have to pick through at the same time. You don’t have to worry about bearings or slides getting clogged with dirt or failing.
They’re also incredibly durable. Their fully welded, heavy gauge, all-steel construction means that these truck tool boxes will last you a long time even with a lot of use. The relatively minimal number of moving parts means you won’t be spending as much on replacement parts. The powder finish that coats all Swivel products is made to last.
Swivel’s relative lack of designs means that they’re not the best choice unless your truck can easily mount an underbed tool box or has a place for you to mount the open-faced drawers. However, they do have an incredibly useful and innovative design that’s hard to pass up if you want to use your truck as a mobile shop. They also offer product registration so you can make the most of your tool box.
